Kung Fu at Whitehorse

Wing Chun kung fu is a unique system of scientific principles that originates from China, about 300 years ago. It uses principles like "don’t fight force with force" and enables a smaller person to protect themselves in case of physical assault. A very deep art, Wing Chun also contains principles of chi or ‘internal energy’ from traditional chinese medicine that enhance the practicioners physical and mental health.

Originated by a nun called Ng MUI, the system is ideal for women. Wing Chun is well respected as one of the most effective real combat systems around. Since it was made famous in the West by Bruce LEE, Wing Chun has quickly developed a huge following.

At Whitehorse, we emphasise the science of what we are doing. There is no majick or ‘special powers’ in real Kung Fu, just the laws of nature. The training helps you rediscover these principles for yourself, using your own body.

It enables the practitioner to find effective solutions for things like;

  • Self protection in "real combat" situations

  • Stretching, breathing and meditation exercises for relaxation and stress management
